AngularJS + CMIS 1.1 – a simple CMIS Repo browser

I was invited to do a talk at Alfresco’s Meet the Experts in Hamburg a weeks ago. As I had done a few things with AngularJS ago (e.g. the fme File Exchange Platform) I had decided to give a talk about building SPAs for Alfresco with AngularJS.

The slides of my talk are available here (sorry in german only).

I decided to implement a little app the day before the meetup to have a simple in-place to explain some of Angular’s features like routing, directives & also to show the strength of modern web developer tools like yeoman. As the app should be simple but also using an Alfresco repository as backend I decided to implement a simple Repository browser leveraging the CMIS 1.1 browser binding & Alfresco’s Demo Repo (cmis.alfresco.com)

ng-cmis-browser

As mentioned above the demo app uses the the following libs/tools:

You can try the app here: http://blog.alfrescian.com/ng-cmis-browser (login is admin/admin as cmis.alfresco.com is used as repo).

The Code is available on github: https://github.com/alfrescian/ng-cmis-browser

CMIS Browser using Angular Material

I’ve played around a little bit with angular-material (https://material.angularjs.org) & implemented another CMIS-Browser demo that supports Alfresco& Nuxeo.

Code is on github: https://github.com/alfrescian/cmis-browser-ng-material

Demo is available here: (Credentials alfresco is admin:admin, nuxeo is Administrator:Administrator): http://blog.alfrescian.com/material-cmis-browser/

  1. yes, Alfresco has reinitialized their CMIS demo repository, so the ID of the space node I’m referring is wrong. Gonna fix this soon…

  2. fixed & also added link to cmis browser demo based on angular-material!

  3. Hi Roman,
Alfresco periodically re-initializes it’s public demo repository. Sadly, this means that repo gets a new repositoryID wich is currently hardcoded in the demo.
–> I’m not gonna maintain this demo & change the repoId manually every few weeks, but I’ll take a look if it’s easy to fetch the correct repoID…
    Cheers, jan

  4. Is it possible use with Alfresco 3.4.7 Enterprise? or It’s only for Alfresco version 4.x
Can i connect to Alfresco using Javascript and CMIS in Alfresco 3.4.7 Enterprise? Actually i am using opencmis with Java but i need to connect using Javascript

    Thanks.
